As the owner and president of Players Mood Music Group Inc which does business as (DBA) Musicmenders, I have virtually always been involved in music at one level or another. Either as a musician, guitar or amp technician, service center owner or music store owner.
I began at the age of about 7 as a drummer and pursued that with a vengence, until about the time I turned 13 when the guitar began to work its magic on me thanks to the likes of Chuck Berry, Chet Atkins, and the Ventures, just to name a few. About that same time, I became interested in Amateur Radio and in 1962 earned my first FCC license and began a lifetime of interest and study in electronics, especially as it pertains to music. I began working on my own guitar amplifiers as well as those of friends and acquaintances in about 1962. Soon I landed my first real job as an apprentice in a small TV repair shop on Beach Blvd in Jacksonville, Fl. There I found that I was given most all the audio equipment to repair as the old heads did all the TV work (it paid better). I continued to learn and study electronics both formally and informally for many years and continued working on guitars and amps as well as performing as a guitarist and vocalist.
I found that it makes a great deal of difference to customers who are musicians to actually have an experienced musician repairing or servicing their gear. I work on guitars and amps as if they were my own and I had to personally perform with them. I consider it an honor and a privilege to service guitars and amplifiers for folks that have placed their trust in us.
